Hasan Zaidi

Surgical: Executive Committee Member

For those who I have not had the pleasure of meeting:

I am Hasan Zaidi.

I would characterise myself as ultimately hard-working but open-minded, approachable, and sociable.

So, why am I running for a position on the General Executive Committee?

I respect this society immensely and have attended almost every event! I suspect that you will agree with my claim it is the coolest society at Imperial.

I would like to play a role in its future.

I am interested in plastics, orthopaedics, and ENT, and want to hold a skills workshop in one of these fields.

It dismays me deeply to not learn any surgical skills in the early-years curriculum, and I will ensure more first-years get involved.

I also hope to hold a teaching series on Clinical Skills for Phase 1b.

I am accomplished in attracting interesting speakers and would like to think I am engaging educator for MedEd.

Fundamentally, I assume my fellow contestants and I share the same ideals.

So what sets me apart the other very fine candidates?

I am in a unique position as I have a twin brother at St. George’s, who also studies medicine. Together, we have been to other medical schools and built lasting friendships. I want you all to build a network, and so I will increase our collaboration with other medical schools.

Most importantly, I will keep our society fun!
