Serena Corry

Hello, I am Serena, a third year medical student. I am running for the role of student trustee because I am passionate about making the Union work better for all students. I will ensure that the key needs and priorities of students are promoted in the Union's strategy going forward. I am very interested in law and am currently chair of the law society at Imperial. As part of this I have organised events and obtained society sponsorship from leading firms including Magic Circle firms to help students explore new career opportunities. Outside of university, I have also helped organise and lead national law conferences, last year the conference had over 300 attendees. I am very interested in policy and how systems can better serve the people they represent as such I have undertaken roles in the Imperial branch of the Students for Global Health Society including Vice-Chair. This has enabled me to think more critically about the process by which policies are devised and enacted. The attributes gained in this role of effective communication, strong organisational skills and an understanding of law would be very beneficial if I were elected to this role.
