Hi everyone, I am Sayanen.

At the start of the year, I kept hearing “placement’s supposed to be chill; no more lectures, no more intense BRS revision”. But it may not be as relaxed as we initially thought with all the sign offs and the clerking and teaching and passmed and ward rounds and travel, the list goes on and on. If there’s anything that you’re struggling with, I want to help fix it. The role of academic rep allows for real change to occur and for students’ ideas to be implemented. For example, in first year, I worked with the PVB module leads to publish the PVB assessments page before our exams and I continued this in second year providing feedback on how to shorten long sessions and make them more engaging.

I greatly enjoyed being a rep for the past two years and I think there’s a whole new scope of improvements that can be made for third year, starting with the format of the clerking submission form.

I hope to continue to pass on your ideas to faculty, with the other reps, to make sure your voices are heard.
