Ayan Hirani
Let’s be honest: starting medical school is very exciting but also a huge challenge, keeping up with dense lecture slides can get overwhelming pretty quickly. My name is Ayan and I’m here to make Year 1 of medical school a lot more manageable and student friendly.
Your voice actually heard
If you’ve got any problems with the way in which content is taught or just have any ideas to improve the way the course is delivered, I will raise these issues at meetings with the deputy president for education. Think of me as your representative, not another notification you’ll ignore.
Clearer Guidance & Better Support
There’s already enough content to learn in Year 1, so getting clear expectations and directions shouldn’t be an extra hurdle. I’ll work with staff to ensure lecture outcomes, placement and assessment guidance are as transparent as possible.
Transparent Updates
You deserve to know what’s happening behind the scenes. I’ll provide regular, straightforward updates on student feedback, and the progress being made throughout the year.
Surviving Together
Medicine should be about collaboration, not competition. I’ll encourage sharing resources so we can help each other through the year. We’re all in this together, whether we like it or not after a 9 am lecture.
My Promise
I’ll be approachable, proactive and honest, representing everyone fairly and working with staff at Imperial to turn the feedback from students into action, to ensure everyone’s voice is heard.
You bring the feedback; I’ll bring it to the table.
