Hi! I'm James, and I'm running for Phase 1a Academic Representative!
Some of you may know me as a violinist, a hockey player, or just someone who's been coughing in your lectures for the past week..
My aim is to champion the student voice and make our teaching more engaging and transparent. Through years of leading student initiatives and my ambition to improve medical education, I have developed the skills to represent you ALL! Working alongside Year Reps, staff, and students to identify concerns and drive meaningful improvements to teaching and learning, the change starts here.
I will be that Rep that engages in the meeting. I will be that Rep who comes prepared and ready to fight for what we want. I will defend our voice in that room.
With me, feedback will be turned into action by strengthening communication between students and faculty, ensuring concerns are heard, and advocating for an academic environment where every student can thrive.
Every student deserves to feel represented, and every voice should have the power to shape our academic experience.
Whether through informal conversations, regular feedback collection, or working with Year Reps to identify recurring issues, I will keep you informed about what is raised, what action is taken, and where further progress is needed.
