My name is Maya Garren Tam, and I am a first year medical student.
As your representative, I will aim to be organised, approachable, and effective. I will respond promptly to emails, listen to your concerns, and represent our cohort’s academic interests.
Having led three aid trips to wartime Ukraine, I learned that effective support starts with asking people what they need and adapting quickly to accommodate those needs. I hope to bring this approach to the role of Academic Representative.
Starting this week, I will hold biweekly drop-in sessions on South Kensington campus on Mondays and Thursdays from 5–6 pm. My location will be posted on Instagram: maya_g_tam. Please come along or contact me with any academic concerns or suggestions. Throughout my term, I will raise issues with the relevant staff and keep you updated on progress.
