Endocrinology: Subcommittee Member
This year, I hope to help the society grow further to encourage students to immerse themselves in the amazing world of endocrinology! The aim is to go beyond the curriculum, learning about the ins and outs of the hormonal systems whilst developing a genuine passion for the subject.
To enact this vision this year, these are a couple of policies I would try to introduce:
- start a book club, where we look at papers/books regarding up and coming research detailing experiences in the world of endocrinology giving you the opportunity to present and discuss topics of interest
- signposting to research opportunities, whether this be through communicating with faculty or sourcing opportunities from local labs in London
- having in depth tutorials which closely follow the curriculum, in collaboration with other societies to have a synoptic understanding
- have mocks/ questions banks for endocrinology questions as supplementary material
- having guest speakers to talk about their lives as endocrinology doctors giving you the opportunity to network with people at the top of their field
- initiating cross-medical school competitions (e.g. essay competitions) to develop your understanding of endocrinology at a higher standard
- and many more!
Finally, I am hardworking, punctual and organised and alongside the committee members of endo soc, I will be eager to enact the above points. I collaborate well and understand how to diplomatically in take ideas, which means I will involve YOU, members of endo society to shape how the society grows in the upcoming year!
