Gitali Gupta
Hi! I'm Gitali and I'm a 2nd year medical student! I have been really interested in Endocrinology since 1st year due to the complex problem solving it entails. Patients present with a vague set of symptoms which traces back to one small gland, affecting multiple organs.
Some ideas I have for teaching events and conferences involve bridging the gap between the theory we learn and clinical applications further. For teaching events, we could host quiz nights or escape room events where students have to diagnose cases based on lecture theory. For more formal events, we could bring in patients who have gone through the whole endocrinolgy journey and have speakers relating to each delve deeper into each section. E.g. from presenting with symptoms to treatment.
As School Council Chair in Sixth Form, I was responsible for delegating tasks, coordinating with all members of the team and participating in fundraising events, which developed my leadership and teamwork skills. Also, I worked as an Administrative Assistant at a school, which helped develop my data entry and organisational skills, which I could transfer to these roles as well.
