Chemical Engineering (UG): Year One Wellbeing Representative

Hi everyone, I’m Devanshi!

Starting Chem Eng at Imperial is a significant milestone, but let’s be honest, between our lectures, problem sheets, clubs and just getting used to London, it can be very overwhelming. This is why I want to run for Wellbeing Rep, to make sure no one has to navigate the highs and lows of first year alone.

What I’ll do:

  • Weekly Decompress Hour: Screen-free time with drinks, board games or any activity you want to do, so there’s always some time to decompress
  • Anonymous workload feedback form: Simple QR code anyone can use to flag when deadlines pile up. I’ll group the themes of problems and take them straight to the department
  • Regular meetings with department staff: Sharing your feedback with the department to push for practical changes
  • Easy support guides: Share a simple guide in our group chats so everyone knows how to access departmental and uni-wide mental health resources

How I’ll stay accountable:

  • Termly updates: A short update in the group chat covering what you raised, what I took to staff and what changed or didn't
  • Mid-term check-in poll: A quick check to see if these initiatives are actually working, so I can adapt based on your feedback

Why me?

I love listening, I care deeply about helping others find balance, and I understand how much a strong support system matters for success. If you want a rep who is approachable and ready to advocate for everyone’s mental health, vote Devanshi for First-Year Wellbeing Rep!
