Harmann Singh Anand
A Stronger Community. A Better First Year.
Hi everyone!
I'm Harmann, a first-year Chemical Engineering student, and I'm running to be your Wellbeing Representative!
Starting university is an exciting experience, but balancing academic pressure, friendships and personal responsibilities isn't always easy. I believe our time at Imperial should be about more than grades. It should also be about feeling supported, included and part of a community.
If elected, I'll focus on three priorities:
-
Building a welcoming community: I'll encourage more opportunities for students to connect, helping everyone feel included, especially those finding the transition to university challenging.
-
Making wellbeing support accessible: I'll help raise awareness of Imperial's mental health, financial and wellbeing services, so students know where to seek support.
-
Listening and representing you: I'll actively seek feedback on academic pressure, student life and wellbeing concerns, raising issues with the appropriate representatives and staff.
Having moved to the UK from another country, I understand the challenges of adjusting to an unfamiliar environment.
As Charity Coordinator at sixth form, I helped organise events such as a charity football match and Culture Day, working with students and staff to bring people together while supporting meaningful causes. These experiences taught me the importance of listening, collaboration and community.
My goal is simple: a department where everyone feels heard, supported and included.
Let's make Imperial a place where we thrive together and let's look out for one another!
