Medicine (UG): Medical Biosciences - Year Two Academic Representative

Hi everyone! I’m Emilie, and I’m running to be your academic representative because every one of us deserves to excel in this course, especially as Imperial was named University of the Year 2027!

Many of us passed Year 1 without knowing where we went wrong in exams, finished tAPPs more confused than before, and hesitated before approaching teaching fellows outside F2F sessions.

Moreover, Year 2 counts for up to 35% of the degree, compared with just 7.5% in Year 1, and the workload will be heavy. I want to help you worry less about that jump.

How do I plan on doing that?

  • Feedback: Conducting at least one survey per term with targeted questions covering Genetics and Genomics, Lab Pod 2, and every elective, so all of us are heard whichever modules we picked. Reporting concise results and teacher responses will make the townhalls worth attending.
  • Exam nerves: Where past papers can’t be provided, additional consolidation material will take their place, with meaningful discussions to answers! Increased exposure to exam-style questions would be beneficial to diminishing anxiety over how much exams alone count towards module grades.
  • Representation: Making it easier to speak openly about the course will help us voice the changes we hope to see.

With your vote, we can deliver these changes together.

Thank you for your support!
