Petra Juncu

Council Representative (UG Science)

In such a large Faculty of Natural Sciences, it is easy to fear that even your smallest concern could go unheard. I am standing for Representative to Council because I am one of you, and I believe that every student in the Faculty deserves to be heard, regardless of their department. As your Representative, my priority would be to speak for you at Union Council, so that each of us can make the most of our degree.

I have tutored around 40 students, led successful team projects in international competitions, including ESA’s AstroPi, and led a student-run science magazine in high school. These experiences have taught me to listen carefully to differing perspectives, to work effectively within a team and to follow through on what I promise.

My three commitments as your Representative:

Listen openly. Students from every department will be able to raise problems with their degree through an anonymous form available 24/7, an anonymous mid-term survey, and informal conversations.

Unite. I will act on behalf of the entire Faculty, not just my degree. Before important votes, I will formally consult across departments with academic and well-being representatives and be open about where interests differ.

Report back. Within one week of every Council meeting I will publish a summary showing key issues discussed, how I voted, why, what each department told me and what happens next.

I cannot promise every outcome, but I promise your concerns, however small, will reach Council.

Vote Petra Juncu for Council Representative (UG Science).
