Ishita Anand

Nice to meet you! My name is Ishita, I am a final-year Ecology and Environmental Biology student and would greatly appreciate your vote to be your council representative. This is my second year as a Biology department representative, and during this time, I have been able to engage both with the University and the Union to reflect on and improve the wellbeing, social, and academic experience of students in my department.

Beyond this, I have been heavily involved in student leadership in High School and understand the capabilities and mindset required to bring issues, criticisms, and concerns to a larger team to better your University experience. My focus is on ensuring transparent communication between the Union and students - understanding why particular decisions are made, who was/was not considered in those decisions, and how we can involve stakeholders to better our systems and policies.
