Lotus Zhang

Hi everyone! I’m Lotus, and I’m standing for Council Representative (UG Engineering). I’d love to help make our community more connected and ensure students feel comfortable sharing their ideas, questions, and concerns.

During my two years as Head of the First Aid Academic Department in my high school's Red Cross Society, I organised first-aid activities, Mental Health Week events, and a public awareness video. I also worked with a school for children with special educational needs to organise monthly volunteering visits and donation drives. These experiences taught me to listen to people's needs, work with others, and follow through on ideas.

At Imperial, I'd love to build on this experience by exploring an Engineering Feedback Loop. Provide an accessible way for students across all years to share feedback, raise concerns, and follow updates. By working with Year Representatives, I'd aim to ensure feedback reaches the right people and students know what happens next. I'd also like to offer students a way to contact me privately if they'd prefer not to share something publicly.

Representation isn't about having all the answers or promising to fix everything. It's about being approachable, taking your concerns seriously, and making sure your voices aren't lost along the way.

If elected, I'll do my best to be someone you can talk to, who follows things up and turns your feedback into action wherever possible.

Your voice matters. Let's make it heard.
