Akilaesh Thirunavukarasu

Vanakkam! My name is Akilaesh, and I am a first-year Chemistry student running for Head of Sponsorship.

TSoc has been a huge part of my first year, and I would love the opportunity to give back to the society as part of committee. Through subcommittee, I helped organise events and led the delivery of a Mario Kart games table, developing my teamwork, communication, and organisational skills. I also took part in this year's sponsorship hunt, where our team secured over £400 from two sponsors. This gave me valuable experience approaching businesses, representing TSoc professionally, and building relationships with potential sponsors. It taught me the importance of being proactive, resilient, and organised when securing support for Mega Maalai.

Outside of TSoc, I was Head of Events for RAG, where I saw how vital sponsorship and fundraising are for delivering successful events and supporting charitable causes. As incoming Treasurer for ChemSoc, I will also gain experience managing external partnerships.

If elected, I will work to maintain existing sponsor relationships while actively seeking new opportunities to support both Mega Maalai and Tsoc's charitable initiatives. I would be grateful for your support. Thank you!
