Innovate for Health. Design for Impact.
Hi! I’m Anya Gupta, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student running for Head of Subcommittee in FemTech.
My interest in women’s health began during a fundraising initiative I organised for period hygiene access in India. While working on it, I learned how many women still lack access to basic menstrual products and education due to stigma and limited resources. Hearing these stories made me realise how deeply healthcare disparities affect women’s lives and inspired me to think about how technology, awareness, and advocacy can work together to address these gaps.
Studying Biomedical Engineering has strengthened this interest even more. My degree sits at the intersection of medicine, technology, and innovation, and it constantly pushes me to think about how scientific ideas can translate into real healthcare solutions. FemTech reflects exactly that goal — using technology and research to improve women’s health outcomes and expand possibilities in healthcare.
What I’d like to bring to FemTech:
• Impact-focused initiatives highlighting menstrual health, reproductive health, and healthcare disparities.
• Innovation conversations exploring how technology can transform women’s healthcare.
• Community engagement encouraging members to collaborate on ideas, discussions, and projects.
Why me?
I bring leadership experience across several roles, including work with NGOs focused on gender equality and social impact. These experiences have helped me develop strong organisational and teamwork skills. Combined with my passion for healthcare and innovation, I’m excited to help FemTech grow and create meaningful impact.
