Abbie Premakumar

Hi everyone! I am excited to run for Head of Subcommittee for FemTech Society. FemTech is an inspiring and rapidly growing field, and I would love the opportunity to help the society expand its impact, bringing together a passionate team committed to advancing women’s health, innovation, and health equity.

Through my leadership and media experience, including serving as Secretary and Senior Social Media Lead for the Institute of Medical Ethics, and previous media roles with national societies, I have developed strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills. These experiences have equipped me to coordinate projects, manage committees, and deliver engaging, high-quality events.

If elected, I would focus on:

• Building and leading a motivated subcommittee team, ensuring members are supported and empowered to contribute effectively.

• Expanding opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and industry engagement, connecting members with experts and entrepreneurs in FemTech.

• Maintaining high standards for events and initiatives while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.

• Promoting the society’s work through clear communication, outreach, and engagement strategies to reach more members.

I am committed to helping FemTech grow into a dynamic and impactful community that provides educational, inspiring, and empowering opportunities for all members. I would be honoured to lead the subcommittee and contribute to shaping the society’s next chapter.
