Serra Yenilmez

Hello everyone,

My name is Serra, and I am a second-year Biological Sciences student excited to run for Head of Subcommittee in FemTech Society.

Through leadership roles and committee involvement since high school, I have developed strong organisational, coordination, and teamwork skills. I have learned how important clear structure, accountability, and communication are when managing projects and supporting collaborative environments. I genuinely enjoy bringing clarity to ideas and helping teams translate plans into well-executed events and initiatives.

My interest in FemTech stems from my curiosity about the intersection of biotechnology, women’s health, and innovation. I am particularly inspired by how emerging technologies are reshaping healthcare solutions for women, and I believe student societies play an important role in creating exposure to these developments. I hope to become part of this society to contribute to opportunities for members to engage with industry professionals and explore startup culture, and gain insights themselves to think about these roles in the future.

As Head of Subcommittee, I would focus on fostering a supportive, motivated, and well-organised team dynamic. I would aim to ensure clear delegation of tasks, smooth coordination across projects, and consistent follow-through on initiatives. Most importantly, I want to help build initiatives that strengthen networking, encourage innovation, and cultivate an inclusive and driven community within the society.

I would be truly excited to contribute leadership and enthusiasm to this role!!
