Eda Bakay
Hello everyone, I’m Eda Bakay, an aspiring final-year Biological Sciences student, and I am excited to apply for the role of Sponsorship Officer for the FemTech Society. I have been a dedicated member of the society for the past two years, and it has become one of the most inspiring communities I have been part of at Imperial. The FemTech conferences have always given me hope and inspiration, especially during challenging moments at university.
Women’s health is an area I care deeply about, both academically and personally. I have gained research experience in ovarian cancer, which strengthened my interest in improving outcomes for women through science and innovation. I am also an active member of Diabetes UK, supporting initiatives that raise awareness about chronic disease and patient wellbeing. In the future, I hope to pursue postgraduate training in either Graduate Entry Medicine or Dietetics, where I can continue working in fields connected to women’s health and preventative care.
As Sponsorship Officer, I would aim to help build strong partnerships with organisations that share FemTech’s mission of advancing women’s health and technology. I would work to secure sponsorships that allow the society to continue hosting inspiring conferences, talks, and networking opportunities for students interested in this field. I would be honoured to contribute to the society that has already given me so much inspiration.
