Bio Engineering: Wellbeing Events Coordinator

Bioengineering pushes us to think critically, solve complex problems, and innovate for the future. But while we spend so much time learning how to improve lives, we don’t always prioritise our own wellbeing. That’s why I’m standing to be your Wellbeing Coordinator.

Hi, I’m Saisha. I know firsthand how intense this degree can be - the packed timetables, the deadlines that stack up, the quiet pressure to always be keeping up. And while ambition drives us, burnout shouldn’t define us. I believe wellbeing isn’t just about crisis support - it’s about creating a culture where checking in on each other is normal, where balance is encouraged, and where no one feels like they’re struggling alone.

If elected, I want to introduce practical, meaningful initiatives: guided study-break events during peak exam season, wellbeing walks, de-stress sessions, peer check-ins, and clear signposting to support services. Small, consistent actions that make a real difference. I also want to ensure that conversations around mental health, imposter syndrome, and academic pressure are open and honest for everybody to hear.

What makes me different is that I genuinely care about building an environment where people feel seen and supported. I’m approachable, organised, and proactive - but most importantly, I listen. I want to represent your concerns and advocate for changes that make our cohort healthier and happier.
