Hey! I’m Milena, a first year Molecular Bioengineering student, and I’m running to be your next Wellbeing Events Coordinator. Mental and physical wellbeing are vital to thrive at university, especially in a demanding degree like bioengineering, and every student should feel supported, part of a community, and motivated throughout the year.
If I'm elected, I aim to:
- Create inclusive, low-pressure spaces: from coffee mornings, picnics and volleyball in Hyde Park to pottery painting evenings with pizza.
- Continue with puppy yoga, maybe even cats/bunnies?
- Promote physical wellbeing: by organising fun, accessible activities like social runs, yoga sessions, and friendly football/basketball/volleyball matches
- Encourage mental resilience: through workshops on stress management, productivity, and study-life balance, as well as tackling imposter-syndrome.
- Foster a culture of care by collaborating with the Welfare team and Academic reps to ensure every student knows where to turn for support, and exactly what kind of support is given.
I believe wellbeing isn’t just about single events; it’s about building a lasting sense of community. With my organisational experience from being a sustainability strategist and leading campaigns, I'm ready to make that happen :)
