Kelly Li
I am Kelly from Second year Biomedical Engineering. I’ve had times when I felt really stressed and didn’t know where to let it out. I’ve tried both the university wellbeing talking service and community support. They can help, but the waiting time is often long, and it’s not always easy to access when you urgently need it.
That’s why I’m running for Wellbeing Events Coordinator. I want our Biomedical department to feel trusted and reachable—offering quick, low-barrier support alongside professional services, so no one feels they have to carry everything alone!
My pledges:
-
A wellbeing newsletter every two weeks, with department events, clear support routes (urgent and non-urgent), and simple, practical tips for exam and deadline seasons.
-
More stress-relief sessions, especially dog therapy! Last time it was fully booked fast, which shows the demand is real. I’ll push for more sessions and more time slots, especially during exam season.
-
Short, useful workshops based on real student needs: career and internship pressure, managing emotions and sleep during exams, and helping international students feel more confident speaking up and asking for help.
I’d also love to use this role to get to know more of you, hear what you’re going through, and build a more supportive community. As we grow in Biomedical, we should also make sure we’re taking care of each other!
