Megan Wang
Hey~~ I am Megan, a first-year student passionate about building strong links between students and industry. I understand how challenging it can be for students to gain industrial connections, and I am dedicated to helping ensure ChemSoc can support this as much as possible. With leadership experience as a Girl Guides President, professional exposure at Blacks Solicitors, and customer-facing roles in retail and volunteering, I bring organisation, professionalism, and proactive communication, all of which are crucial to improving Chem Soc’s relationships with companies across different fields.
If elected, I will focus on five key goals:
- Expand Industry Outreach
Actively approach companies across pharmaceuticals, consulting, and broader chemical industries to diversify opportunities available to students. - Strengthen Industrial Relationships
Maintain consistent communication with sponsors, ensuring they feel valued and meaningfully involved throughout the year, not just at single events. - Run Career Events
Support the running of cross-society career fairs and other events, such as the Life Sciences Careers Fair, and introduce smaller networking sessions for more direct interaction. - Improve Accessibility & Awareness
Ensure students are well-informed about sponsor events, internship timelines and opportunities through clear, organised communication. - Build Long-Term Partnerships
Develop sustainable relationships that benefit future ChemSoc cohorts for years to come.
I am committed to representing ChemSoc professionally and to ensuring that all students have the chance to engage with various industries.
Vote for me for Industrial Relations Officer!!
