Leeona Paulson
Hi, I’m Leeona and I am a candidate for the position of Secretary in NeuroSoc. Neuroscience has always fascinated me, and I want to help our society continue to grow as a strong platform for learning and collaboration where ideas are shared in an engaging and accessible way.
My interest is driven by areas such as neuroplasticity, developmental neuroscience, and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. I am particularly drawn to how neuroscience links molecular mechanisms to behaviour and lived experience, and I hope to contribute to a society that makes these discussions meaningful for all members.
As Secretary, I will prioritise efficiency and transparency. I will ensure meetings are well organised, record clear and structured minutes, and circulate them promptly so responsibilities and action points are always defined. Maintaining an organised shared document system will strengthen coordination and continuity within the committee. I will also remain approachable and responsive, supporting strong communication within the team and encouraging feedback from event attendees so the society can continuously improve. Ensuring events are inclusive and accessible to students from all years and academic backgrounds will remain central to my approach.
Through my NeuroSoc subcommittee and leadership experience, I have developed strong organisational skills, reliability, and teamwork. I am confident I can excel as your Secretary while supporting and strengthening NeuroSoc for all members.
Thank you for your support!
