Why Me (Less ChatGPT-ey part for people who won’t read the rest)
Let’s be honest: EIE sometimes feels like the slightly forgotten sibling of DoCSoc. We orbit many of the same industries (software, AI, systems, trading) but we don’t always show up to the same events.
At the same time, many of the companies engaging with DoCSoc are exactly the ones EIE students end up working with.
I’d like to help bridge that gap and make sure EIE students feel just as connected to those opportunities.
Key Priorities
• Helping organise industry events that are genuinely useful and engaging for students
• Strengthening relationships with DoCSoc sponsors and industry partners
• Encouraging greater participation from EIE students in DoCSoc events
• Creating relaxed environments where students can have real conversations with people from industry
Vision
DoCSoc already has some of the strongest industry links at Imperial. My goal would be to help build on that by making those connections accessible to a wider range of students.
Tech careers rarely sit neatly within one department, and industry engagement should reflect that.
