Hi, I'm Michael, I'm a second-year computing student and proud organizer for IC Hack 2026, and I'm running to be your next DoCSoc Sponsor Liaison!
I have a vision. One that strips away the doom and gloom of our cooked job market, and replaces it with ACCESS. Because the bottleneck here clearly isn't talent - it's proximity to opportunity. I intend to close that gap.
So why me?
Between a humbling application cycle, hackathon sponsor logistics and countless networking events, I have developed a clear understanding of what sponsors value, what students need, and where DoCSoc can create real leverage.
I want to ensure sponsors deliver tangible impact by:
- Listening to what kind of companies YOU want to see on campus
- Diversifying the current sponsor landscape (we do love quant, but there is so much more potential for AI, quantum and other rising frontiers)
- Expanding our industrial events to include more hands-on exposure to top firms, not just generic talks followed by an "apply online" leaflet
- Opening up the start-up space by connecting founders with students/alumni, building clearer pipelines for early-stage experience, benefitting both aspiring students and budding entrepreneurs alike.
If elected, I will work relentlessly for you to turn sponsorship into only the best opportunities - because talented students from a top university deserve nothing less.
Vote Michael Song, and let's uncook the job market 🔥
