Yana Aggarwal
Elect Yana for DoCSoc Sponsor Liaison 2026/27!
Internships are competitive. Even getting a foot in the door can feel impossible. That’s exactly why strong industry engagement matters, and why I’m running for Sponsor Liaison. Because I don’t just want DoCSoc sponsors to just be names on a banner. I want them to actively work for you.
Who am I?
I’m a 2nd year Computing student who’s already deeply involved in industry-facing events across Imperial. I’m currently the Events Manager for AlgoSoc, where I’ve worked directly with companies like Optiver, Maven, HRT, IMC Trading to organise events to help you get into the industry.
I was also one of the eight organisers of Algothon 2026, coordinating a large-scale competition with sponsors, speakers, and multiple teams, and I was part of the team helping to organise IC Hack 2026, giving me experience working behind the scenes of Imperial’s biggest event.
In short: I’ve done the emails, the meetings, the logistics, the last-minute problem solving - and I know how to make industry events useful for you.
What will I do?
-
Practical events including interview workshops, not just passive listening to a presentation
-
High-quality speakers from companies students genuinely want to work at
-
A clear roadmap on how to actually break into these companies - everything you need from CV guidance to Leetcode sessions
My aim is to make sure sponsors give back in ways that actually help us (not just giving us pizza, although that's still very welcome!)
