I'm Ahmed, a first-year Computing student, and I'm running to be your Sponsor Liaison for DoCSoc 2026/27!
Why me?
DoCSoc's sponsors are some of the biggest names in tech and finance, but students aren't getting nearly enough out of them. I want to change that. Every sponsor event should leave you with something you can put on your CV, talk about in interviews, or help you become the next great LinkedIn warrior.
This role comes down to communication, and I deliver. I raised £2.5k+ from 11 sponsors for my F1iS team, from scratch (with no existing society/brand's backing). As a long-term volunteer on the HackEx team for IC Hack, I've seen how to deliver sponsor events at the highest level.
What I'll deliver:
- Events that benefit you: coding challenges, hackathons, and hands-on workshops that give you real achievements for your CV.
- Something for everyone: More outreach to interesting startups, AI companies, game studios, etc.
- Learn from the best: learn actionable knowledge, not just some t-shirt and a generic talk (but wouldn’t mind a free hoodie).
- Most importantly, your voice, heard: I'll actively seek out what you want and hold myself accountable to delivering it. You can always find me frolicking in labs if you have any questions, I’d love to talk :)
This role has one priority: you. Not the sponsors, not the committee. Everything I do will be about making sure you genuinely get the most out of DoCSoc's sponsors. And nobody will fight harder for that than me.
