Surgical: Trauma Conference Chair

Hello! My name is Amna, and I am applying for the role of Trauma Conference Chair, having previously served as Personnel Officer for the 2025 Trauma Conference.

In this role, I developed strong organisational and leadership skills, particularly in speaker recruitment, professional communication, logistical coordination, and supporting smooth on-the-day delivery. Contributing to such a successful event gave me valuable insight into what it takes to deliver a high-quality conference while maintaining a cohesive, motivated team.

Following the outstanding conference led by Marya last year, I was inspired to take on greater responsibility and help deliver an equally impactful and forward thinking event. I am motivated not only to uphold the high standards already established, but to broaden the scope and inclusivity of the conference.

For the upcoming Trauma International Conference my key ideas include:

  • Broader Global Perspectives: Including speakers working in conflict settings, pre-hospital care, disaster response, rehabilitation, and global trauma systems development.
  • Career pathway guidance: Talks comparing routes into trauma surgery in the UK, US, and internationally.
  • Lived experience sessions: Trauma survivors sharing their journeys to highlight long-term physical and psychological recovery.
  • Case-based panel debates: Interactive discussions on complex or ethically challenging trauma scenarios.
  • Enhanced practical workshops: Trauma imaging interpretation stations and VR-based simulations.
  • Structured networking opportunities: Dedicated sessions connecting students with clinicians and researchers.

I am passionate about trauma because it fuses teamwork, precision, and resilience. As Chair, I would strive to deliver a conference that is globally informed, inclusive, and inspiring.

So vote for me! 😊
