Ernie Wong

Hello everyone! I’m Ernie Wong, a first year student, and I’m running to be your UG Business Department Academic Representative. I’m primarily running because I want our voices to be heard among faculty, with proper representation in coursework and expectations.

Coming from the perspectives of some current students, here are some things I want to address:

1. Module expectations

• More active feedback about expectations of problem sets and assignments from the students
• Examination marking scheme transparencies

2. Lecturer accessibility and resources

• Support for missed lectures due to unexpected circumstances
• Further material for preparations and enrichment

3. Cross stream collaboration and engagements

• Addressing different solutions or projects that may allow students to work with peers from the other stream
• Bringing up student proposals directly with department

4. Department transparency

• How is the department actively adjusting the course year by year to accommodate for previous year performances
• Bringing up roadblocks and other issues students may run into during their studies

I’m always open to new ideas and perspectives on what we should address presently. At the end of the day, representation is about every voice being properly heard, and I’d love to engage properly with everyone, starting with your vote.
