Hi everyone! I'm Ria Godha, a first-year Economics, Finance and Data Science student running to be your Academic Representative. Here's what I'd like to do:
1. Make sure your concerns go somewhere.
I'll create an anonymous tracker where you can flag problems, +1 shared concerns and see their status. I'll raise pressing issues with faculty and share their responses, even if it's a “no”.
2. Make the learning curve less steep.
Some of us arrived fluent in Python. Others met it in week one. I'll push for beginner coding resources, help for international students adjusting to unfamiliar curricula and clearer learning materials.
3. Bring learning beyond lectures.
What does regression look like in trading? Or game theory in business deals? I'll work with faculty to arrange practitioner sessions each term. Yes, you can post about them on LinkedIn.
Why me? A few things I've done:

At the end of the day, I'm figuring out the same maths problem sets, programming errors and "how many spring weeks have you applied to?" conversations as you. I can't promise to solve every problem, but I can promise to listen, follow up and ensure you know what's being done about it.
