Hi everyone; I'm Vera, your next EFDS Year 1 Academic Representative!
If you also spent our first weeks using notes from 'Probability & Statistics' to calculate our chances of surviving Math lectures, don't worry — you aren't alone. This transition to Imperial can be tough (especially if you were hit hard by freshers flu and had to solve problem sets with a fever, like I did), but I am here to support you from the academic side.
As a former Student Council Member at my boarding schools, I have years of experience in listening to my peers and taking action. For instance, I organised extra peer revision sessions before major exams to tackle difficult topics together. I’m highly organized, approachable, and ready to stand up for our cohort to ensure our first year is smooth and successful, without any all-nighters (or maybe just a few...).
While I cannot change the math curriculum or lower the speed of our lecturers' slides, as your Academic Representative, as your Academic Rep, I will actively work on your concerns! Whether you want more group study sessions to brainstorm or clearer feedback channels, I’ve got your back.
Vote for Vera, and your voices will be heard & problems solved!
