Elizabeth Shumilova

I'm Lizzie and I am running for Wellbeing Representative as I believe that it is important to create a tightly knit year group that can support each other and elevate one another. A bit about myself: I love to sing and play saxophone, I enjoy most team sports, and I have 4 dogs:)

As your Wellbeing Representative, I'd aim to increase the sense of community within the Medical Biosciences department, creating more opportunities for engagement within the department and between Biomed and other departments too. Most importantly, I would listen to both the positive and negative experiences of fellow students and use this to improve student satisfaction and make the department a more supportive place.

Working as a class assistant in a school for the past 3 years has given me experience in efficient and effective communication, which would be key when gathering opinions from other students and working on them as part of a greater team to act on changes required. Furthermore, being a prefect in my sixth form has given me the organisational skills that would allow my vision to become a reality and not just stay as an idea.

I'm very friendly and approachable, so I will always be glad to speak with anyone and work with you!
