Hi everyone, I'm Ela, and I'm running to be your Year One Medical Biosciences Wellbeing Representative!

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love talking to people! Whether it's a casual conversation, a random chat between lectures, or something that's been bothering you, I'm always happy to listen.

Having lived in three different countries, I know firsthand how exciting but also overwhelming it can be to adjust to a completely new environment. Moving between countries has meant meeting people from all kinds of backgrounds, and sometimes having to find my place in an unfamiliar community. These experiences have taught me how important it is to feel welcomed, and supported, especially when you're not in your comfort zone.

Coming from a multicultural background, I understand that university isn't just about adjusting to academic expectations. It's also about building a safe space. I want to help create an environment where everyone, regardless of their background or where they come from, feels included and knows they have a way of reflecting their voice.

I hope to achieve becoming someone you feel comfortable approaching, if you have concerns about academic stress or university life. I want to make sure your opinions and concerns are heard and spoken up for.
