Dhruv Mathur

I'm Dhruv, a second year physicist and the environment editor for Felix, and I'm standing to be your voice on the Ethics & Environment network. Reporting on sustainability, I learn and speak with staff across departments to communicate changes on everything from campus food & waste management to green spaces and heating to sustainable partners and climate research.
If elected, I will translate my role the other way around - to bring the student voice forward when organizing campaigns targeted at improving student life and environmental practices. I also pledge to take a stand on ethics issues in defence of the strategy 'Science for Humanity', including:

1. Understanding and reevaluating involvement with firms in opaque industries like fossil fuels, defence contractors, AI, and surveillance
2. Organizing dialogue between students, staff, and experts in each faculty to understand where biases emerge, and where methodology and misalignment can lead to 'bad science'
3. Keeping the green transition on campus transparent, convenient, and with student involvement
