Hiya! I’m Ioan (Year 2 Biology), and I’m running for the Ethics & Environment Network :)
I genuinely care about sustainability and I want Imperial's messaging to be constructive, not performative. I want a network that actually listens to students before making a campaign.
I will focus on three things:
1) Make sustainability be actually relevant
Climate and ethics shouldn't be performative institutional buzzwords. I will create campaigns and events connected to real everyday life: e.g. connecting food and energy usage to research, careers and the choices we make here on campus.
2) Bring science into the conversation
I'm a Biology student and I want to bridging the gap between research and action. I'll spotlight Imperial research, researchers and student projects tackling environmental challenges through accessible talks, discussions and collaborations.
3) Listen before campaigning
I want the Network to ask us what we actually care about instead of just assuming. Short polls and open idea submissions will help identify issues we actually want them to pursue (and make it easier to get involved!)
