Alan Wang

Hey guys, I’m Alan and I am running to be one of your first-year academic reps.

I grew up in the UK but my parents are from China so I can speak some (broken) Mandarin as well. I would love to talk to as many of you as possible but I’m terrible with names so please bear with me.

Being 3 weeks in and already struggling through thermodynamics (maybe it’s just me), it’s clear that the content in Chemical Engineering is no joke and will only get harder throughout the year.

I want to ensure that our workload isn’t made unnecessarily difficult, by raising any academic issues with the department to be resolved quickly and efficiently.

I also want to work proactively to suggest any improvements to timetabling, coursework deadlines etc., to make everyone’s lives easier.
