I am standing because I am one of you, sitting beside you in lectures, going through the same transition from high school to university, and I want every voice heard so we can all make the most of our degrees.
I have tutored around 40 students in physics and mathematics, and seen how often difficulties go unspoken until it is too late. I have led successful teams in international competitions, including ESA’s AstroPi, and led a student-run science magazine at school, all of which taught me to coordinate people, meet deadlines and communicate clearly. I completed the International Baccalaureate with 43 points, including grade 7s in Physics HL and Mathematics AA HL.
My three commitments:
Listen. I will offer several ways to share feedback: an anonymous form available 24/7, informal conversations after lectures, and a mid-term anonymous survey. Whether or not you speak up in tutorials, your views will be heard.
Raise. In the first weeks, I will gather evidence and take the most common concerns to staff, such as problem sheet clarity, solutions and feedback turnaround, workload distribution across modules, and support for the school-university transition.
Report back. After each staff-student committee meeting, I will share within one week what I raised, the response received and next steps, so you can see what your feedback achieved.
I cannot promise to change everything, but I will be transparent about what I raise, what changes and what does not.
Listen. Raise. Report back.
