Hey guys, I’m Eina and I’m running to be your Y1 academic rep!
When I was thinking of applying to Imperial Physics, I would always find articles on its poor student satisfaction, so I was naturally quite intimidating coming in. Our degree being one of the most rigorous at Imperial (basically 50% a maths degree, 50% physics, and somehow another 50% computing), we deserve good representation to make sure we’re getting our money’s worth and not just scraping by.
I’d like to work with our professors and lecturers on cohesion between the delivery of different courses, more transparency about expectations and assignments, and ensuring access to previous year group’s materials. I’d also want to propose some relaxed study groups or events in general to make our large community of 296 more tight-knit – it’s really easy to feel alone on a course like ours and physics is always best done together.
I also feel the need to attend every available event going on so you’ll definitely be seeing me around campus soon. Whether it’s a small issue you have or a big departmental decision, I promise to make the voices of first year physics students heard!!
