Hello Year 1 Chemists,

My name is Ada and like many of you I’m sure, I am excited but also nervous to be a chemist at Imperial- so although we’re just discovering the course, I hope to play a role of contact and help between us and the department.

I’m comfortable with communication, such as talking to faculty, so I’d be willing and happy to address any problem during this first year! It’s something I did a lot of and enjoyed doing in high school. I’d make sure to set up regular points of communication throughout the year, online or in person, for you to drop in and relay to me any issue, whether it be missing lecture slides or a problem in an exam. I’d address this to the department on your behalf, but we can also organize meetings or 1/1s to do it together.

I think we’ve all repeatedly heard that we’re in the second best university in the world…but that also means that the toughest is yet to come. As I navigate spectroscopy, lab reports, exam pressure and everything else alongside you all, I want to make sure everything academic goes well!

As it’s only been a few days of class, I can only promise to see where it goes and work things out along the way. Until then, if you ever see me around and want to get to know me, or make sure I wasn’t lying about the communication thing, please say Hi ! :)
