I’m Juan, a first-year Chemistry student, and I’m running to be your year representative! Our first year will lay the foundations for the next couple of years at Imperial, so I want to make sure everyone feels supported and heard.
Keeping up with lectures, pre-reading and, eventually, lab work can get pretty hectic, especially when balancing it with hobbies and interests. From being introduced to Schrödinger’s equation in week 1 to living with a bunch of messy freshers, life has done a complete 180°. While a Chemistry degree at Imperial will inevitably be challenging, I want to help make the experience as clear and well-supported as possible. As your academic rep, I’ll work to ensure your voices are heard on issues such as lecture pacing, content coverage and module organisation. I’ll aim to maintain clear communication between students and the department, raise concerns, follow up on feedback and keep you informed about relevant course updates. I also want to make sure everyone feels comfortable sharing their perspective, so you can through WhatsApp, email or simply having a chat and we can sort it out together.
If you want an approachable and proactive academic rep who will listen and work with you, I’d really appreciate your vote.
Better together, from day one.
