MedTech: Events Lead (Workshops & Speaker series)

Hi everyone, my name is Anna Nicolosi and I'm a second year Chemical Engineering student running for Events Lead in the MedTech Society.

I think healthcare technology is a dynamic and everychanging sector, with an immense number of opportunities for students. In my mind the MedTech society should be a forum for ideas and innovation, attracting talent from many different disciplines and backgrounds. As Events Lead I would ensure to create the opportunities and space to do so, allowing peers to both network amongst each other as well as with industry professionals and startups. Coming from an engineering background, I would also bring a fresh perspective and a chance to further explore the technical and engineering side of medicine.

From my past experiences, I've developed strong organisational and collaborative skills well suited to this role. As President of my schools Round Square Committee (a global organisation spanning 280+ schools worldwide), I organised school-wide charity projects and hosted online seminars on varying topics, such as Climate Change and DEI. I also ran sustainability-focused events, liaising with peers and leading workshops for groups of 30 at a time, with preparation involving outreach to various NGOs and local organisations, sourcing materials, and coordinating logistics to bring everything together.
