Amy Lloyd Evans
I'm Amy, a fourth-year medic who has recently completed a BSc in Anaesthesia and Critical Care.
Acute medicine has been one of my favourite clinical placements because of the wide variety of conditions and presentations, making it an excellent environment to develop clinical skills and confidence.
Alongside my academic interests, I have extensive experience organising and running events through my roles as a union officer, society founder and committee member. These have given me the skills to effectively plan and deliver high-quality events. As Acute Care Lead, I would be committed to creating valuable opportunities for our members to explore careers in acute medicine.
My goals are to:
- Organise a high-yield lecture series covering common acute conditions and presentations, focusing on exam-relevant content.
- Deliver hands-on workshops on acute care procedures and skills, such as central line insertion and airway management.
- Collaborate with other societies to host joint teaching sessions, careers events, and networking opportunities, helping members explore different specialities and build professional connections.
As Acute Care Lead, I hope to provide practical and engaging opportunities to develop your clinical knowledge, procedural skills, and confidence on the wards.
