Hi, I’m Jus-karan, and I’m running to be your next Vice President of Imperial Sikh Society.

I believe Sikh Soc has the potential to be more than just another LARP gurdwara. It can be a genuine hub for growth and connection - a place where everyone feels welcomed and able to thrive.

As Vice President, I will work closely with the rest of the committee to ensure the society runs smoothly and that our events and socials are organised with purpose and consistency. SikhSoc will feel active and accessible throughout the whole year.

One of my main goals is to help you connect with Sikhi in your own way. Sikhi is not one-dimensional, and neither is our sangat, which is why I want to reintroduce the balance of Miri and Piri: worldly responsibility and leadership paired with spiritual growth and connection. For some people, that may mean kirtan and learning more about Gurbani. For others, it may mean debates, discussion, activism, poetry, art or entrepreneurship. I will make sure that our new Sikh Hub is representative of all in our community and can be the catalyst in achieving your goals: working closely with the president to push exclusive research opportunities, scholarship access, and a chance for seva through initiatives that interest you.

I want to raise the standard of what our society can be: bringing people together, and creating a microcosm where we can thrive.
