Kamaljit Singh

Hello ICUCC! I’m Kamal, and I’m excited to run for the position of 3rd Team Captain for next year.

Over the past two years, I have been a regular of the club as the 3rd team member, and it has contributed enormously to my growth, both as a player and as a person. The opportunities, friendships, and experiences I have gained have shaped me in many ways, and I now feel ready and confident to give back to the club by serving in a leadership role.

Watching previous captains and committee members serving the club has inspired me to put myself forward for this role. I believe my approachable personality, love for the club and ability to understand crucial stages of the game make me well-suited to lead the 3rd Team.

Vision for the Role:

My aim would be to emphasise helping players simulate match scenarios in nets to build the mental side of the game. Then, to focus on specific executions in net sessions, enabling them to transfer the skills strengthened in closed-door training to different grounds across London. Next, I will focus on more role-defined cricket, impact creation using skills resources in the squad and minimisation of the burden of expectation to enhance individual performance.

As 3rd XI Captain, I will be welcoming many new members in training and socials. I will make sure new players feel included and supported from day one. I want to be like a mentor who helps make ICUCC enjoyable and rewarding place.
