Plastic Surgery: Paediatric Plastic Surgery Conference Co-Chair

Hi, I’m Theodora! Running for Paeds co-chair this year!

My experience with iPRAS over 2 years has given me insight into the organisational skills essential to run seamless, and successful conferences - I look forward to building on this next year if selected as Paed’s co-chair.

I have previously organised multiple speeches from both maxillofacial and craniofacial surgeons, including Professor D. Dunaway; head of the craniofacial unit at GOSH, one of the few surgeons in the world who specialises in the separation of craniopagus conjoined twins. One of my goals, should he be available, would be to bring expertise of this calibre to the conference.

I’ve also previously organised workshops teaching basic surgical skills, something I’d like to introduce pre-conference to maximise benefit from the workshops.

  • For example, hosting or sending out videos pre-conference that teach sutures, knot-tying e.t.c.

Beyond my experiences planning actual content of these sessions and also my experience as sailing social sec:

  • I’ve learnt how to meet project deadlines, deliver on commitments consistently and organise large-scale events with 100+ attendees ensuring people feel engaged.

Paediatric plastic surgery is a specialty that combines technical precision with artistic vision. It restores not only form and function, but confidence and identity. From congenital reconstruction to complex craniofacial surgery and global humanitarian work, its impact is lifelong - and would love to deliver a conference that reflects this :)
