Plastic Surgery: Paediatric Plastic Surgery Conference Co-Chair

Hi everyone, I am really excited to go for the role of paediatric plastic surgery conference co chair!

This was the first conference I attended as part of IPRASS, and it really opened my eyes to the breadth of plastic surgery – from helping the quality of life of children, the opportunities of working in charities abroad, to following up with patients throughout a person’s life. I was inspired by the talks from the lecturers and loved the workshops, especially the burns debridement! Attending this event initiated my interest, and I would love to be involved in organising it.

If I were to be elected as a co-chair, I would be proactive, reliable and organised. I have been involved in organising events by helping with UH night and RAG. I also have great leadership and teamwork skills, which I developed in my role as 4s Netball co-captain.

I have many ideas that could be introduced to the conference, including:

Having a talk from patients to learn from their experience with plastic surgery
Talks exploring the opportunities of paediatric plastic surgery abroad – engaging with speakers from other conferences who have discussed these topics
Boosting accessibility in workshops by recording tutorials for workshops before the conference, so delegates are able to watch before or watch in the session for easier visibility.

In summary, I am a friendly and enthusiastic individual and would love to potentially be a conference co-chair!!
