Transplant and Vascular Society: Conference Chair

Hi everyone! I’m Sudharshan, a fourth-year medical student, and I’m excited to be running for Conference Chair of the Transplant and Vascular Society.

Transplant and vascular surgery represent some of the most technically demanding and ethically complex areas of medicine, from organ allocation and immunology to endovascular innovation and limb salvage. As Conference Chair, my vision is to deliver a flagship event that reflects both the scientific depth and the human impact of these specialties.

Having served as National Conference Lead in SORA and Vice-President (Events) of FoMSF, I have organised large-scale academic conferences, liaised with Union processes, secured speakers, and coordinated logistics from concept to execution. Within other societies, I have worked closely on speaker outreach, workshop planning, sponsorship coordination, and on-the-day management. These experiences have equipped me with the organisational structure, attention to detail, and resilience required to run a high-quality conference.

If elected, I aim to:

• Curate a diverse speaker lineup, including transplant surgeons, vascular surgeons, and trainees, highlighting both cutting-edge innovation and career pathways.
• Introduce hands-on workshops in suturing, vascular anastomosis techniques, and endovascular simulation.
• Launch a student research poster competition to showcase work in transplant immunology and vascular outcomes research.
• Incorporate interactive panel discussions on ethical dilemmas in transplantation and emerging technologies in vascular surgery.

My goal is simple: to create a conference that is academically rigorous, practically valuable, and genuinely inspiring.

I would be honoured to serve as your Conference Chair, thank you for your support!
