Hello everyone, I’m Akshara, and I am running to be your Conference Chair.

Having contributed to organising six conferences this year, while serving across nine different committees and subcommittees, I have developed extensive experience in large-scale event planning and coordination. Combined with my familiarity with recruiting speakers, developing workshops, securing sponsorships, and expanding outreach, I am well equipped to make next year’s conference a continued success.

While maintaining the high standard set this year, I hope to elevate next year’s conference even further through the following ideas:

• Maintain Speaker Diversity by leveraging connections: I will use my previous work with leading experts such as Professor Dame Averil Manesfield and Ms Maria Monteagudo-vela etc. to ensure our conference continues to reflect the breadth of the field

• Optimise Workshop Timing: Delegates in hands-on workshops often run out of time to fully engage with procedures. I will allocate more time to these hands-on workshops, ensuring students have the opportunity to try and complete the procedure.

• Increase Exposure to Innovative and Emerging Surgical Techniques: I want to provide delegates with first-hand exposure to recent advancements in surgical practice and technology, including the integration of AI and simulation-based learning platforms.

• CPD Accreditation: Our conference has hosted pioneers in their respective fields, as such I believe this should be reflected through CPD points.
