Hi! My name is Sreeja Sarkar and I am excited to run for the Events Officer position of Bioscience Review! As a first-year biochemistry student, I love learning about the latest research across different fields, from combating antimicrobial resistance to applications of gene therapy for Alzheimer's disease. While writing for the Bioscience Review, I found myself fascinated with analysing academic discussion and creating my own perspective, eager to share it with others.
As Events Officer, I plan to introduce innovative and engaging workshops to encourage scientific curiosity and help budding writers. Some of my ideas include topic brainstorming sessions (deciding a single topic is often the biggest challenge), 5 minute research 'talks' (simplifying a complex topic to smaller chunks), mock peer review workshops (constructive feedback on writing), collaborative socials and many more! I will coordinate with other committee members to ensure these events are well-planned and publicized, while incorporating your valuable feedback.
Vote for me for Events Officer and let's make Bioscience Review an interactive and collaborative platform for scientific discussion!
